My work history starts at the young age of 9, where I started working at my father’s grocery store in Bokchito, Oklahoma. After I graduated high school in 1981, I started managing the store and kept busy showing limousin cattle, serving as the State Vice President of the Oklahoma Future Farmers of America, and attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University where I earned a double major in Accounting and Economics in 1986.

After I graduated college, I moved to Maryland with $100 in my pocket and just enough naivety to think that anything was possible. I went to work for a company as an accountant but just could not get the entrepreneurial bug out of my system. So, in 1989 I teamed up with a good friend and purchased a small residential cleaning company based in Maryland which serviced approximately 250 customers.

In 1996 we decided to take The Cleaning Authority nationwide and started franchising our business model. At present we have over 180 franchisees in The United States and Canada. The company services nearly 80,000 households and employs over 5,000 people with total top line revenues of over $160 million dollars annually. The Cleaning Authority was recognized among the “Top 100 Fastest Growing Franchises” by Entrepreneur Magazine in 2003 and in 2006, the Franchise Business Review listed the company in the “Top 50 in Franchise Satisfaction”.

It is the experience of running a small business, perfecting the turnkey Franchise model, and building The Cleaning Authority into the organization it is today that I can leverage to help move your Franchise Forward.

Along with my lovely wife Jeanne, I have been a tireless supporter of Share Our Strength, a hunger relief agency where Jeanne worked for 10 years. We have also set up a foundation called “Because it’s You” to continue our passion of helping others. We live, along with our 3 amazing daughters, in Dallas, TX.

The foundation for the success I’ve achieved was forged at a very young age when, at the age of 10, I started working in the business my family owned and operated. After working for 8 years, learning the ins and outs of business management, I left to seek my fortune and in 1982, joined the U.S. Navy. After six years of honorable service, I returned to my home state of Virginia and, deciding to capitalize on my business background, formed my first company. Corporate Graphics was one of the Washington D.C. area's first true digital print companies and over the next eight years grew to a multi-million dollar operation. In 1997 I sold Corporate Graphics to IKON Office Solutions.

My next adventure was into the world of franchising and in the fall of 1997, I signed a franchise agreement and became one of the first franchisees with The Cleaning Authority, LLC (TCA). Working off the TCA business model, I grew exponentially, quickly building my franchise into a million dollar business.

The Cleaning Authority took note of my success and in 2002 offered me a corporate position to oversee operations. Eager to share my business knowledge and excited at the prospects for working with a great company with such a strong business model, I accepted and moved to the corporate headquarters in Maryland. My primary role has been the on-going improvement of franchisee training and support, the continued development of TCA’s proprietary software system and the management of the in-house national call center.

As the COO of TCA, I was instrumental in building the annual revenue from 12 million to approximately 160 million AND increasing revenue per unit from $250,000 to over $1,000,000.

I offer decades of successful, entrepreneurial ownership and experience as well as proven operational franchise strategies and results to the clients of FranForward.

Along with my wife, Susan, and two daughters, Abby (Elizabethtown College) and Hailey (Johnson & Wales University) we call home the Dallas, TX area.
